Megan Thee Stallion is to open up about her life and career in a new documentary.
On Monday, producers at Amazon/MGM Studios announced that Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words will be available to stream via Prime Video on 31 October.
Taking to Instagram, Megan confirmed the news and shared the official poster.
“Hotties my documentary is out Oct 31st. I’m nervous and excited for yall to see it butttt it’s finally here (sic),” she wrote.
In the project, Megan – real name Megan Pete – will reflect on growing up in Houston, Texas, her introduction to rap, and decision to release her first single, Like a Stallion, back in 2016.
The documentary will also chronicle the rapper’s rise to fame after she dropped Savage in 2020, with the track quickly going viral on social media after fans started using it as the soundtrack for dance challenge videos.
“Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words offers unprecedented access to the multi-faceted woman behind the persona,” a summary reads. “Follow the Houston native’s journey on the road to stardom as she tenaciously navigates fame, grief, pressure and success. The documentary unpacks Megan’s most vulnerable moments in a powerful way that allows fans to meet the real Megan Pete.”
It’s not clear if the documentary will delve into her legal battle against bosses at record label 1501 Certified Entertainment over a contract dispute in 2020. The case was settled in October 2023.
In addition, Megan didn’t indicate whether she will speak about her court case against singer-rapper Tory Lanez, whom she accused of shooting her in both feet in July 2020.
Lanez was later charged over the incident and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Megan, 29, released her self-titled third studio album in June.
