The metal giants will head to Sin City this autumn for an eight-date stint, dubbed ‘Life Burns Faster’. It follows previous reports and rumours that the band would be staging a residency in Vegas.

James Hetfield and co. are due to play at the immersive, high-tech venue across four weeks: October 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31. They’ll continue their ‘No Repeat Weekend’ tradition that began with their ‘M72 World Tour’, with no songs repeated on each Thursday and Saturday throughout the residency.

Both two-night and single-night tickets go on general sale at 10am PT next Friday (March 6). Visit here to register and to find more information on pre-sales, enhanced experiences, travel packages and more.

Metallica co-founder and drummer Lars Ulrich said: “About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’

“This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next-level!”

The group’s upcoming Sphere residency will boast “live staples and surprises spanning the Metallica catalogue enhanced by the venue’s immersive technologies that will allow fans to experience the sound and fury of the band’s live performance in new experiential dimensions”.

Ticketholders will hear Metallica perform with Sphere Immersive Sound, and enjoy “multi-sensory 4D technology” at the gigs. The performances are set to “present a wholly unique and entirely new Metallica experience for all who attend”.

Sphere’s impressive technology includes the world’s highest resolution LED display that wraps up over and around the audience.

Check out the official trailer for Metallica’s Las Vegas Sphere residency above, and find the full list of dates below.

Metallica’s ‘Life Burns Faster’ Sphere dates for 2026 are:

OCTOBER
01, 03
15, 17
22, 24
29, 31

The band are following in the footsteps of  U2, Phish, Dead & Company, the Eagles and the Backstreet Boys in hosting a residency at the Sphere.

Last spring, Kirk Hammett spoke about the possibility of playing the arena, saying it was a “great example of how venues are changing”. He added: “That’s using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to AI and making it a crazy experience.”

Ulrich later confirmed that the group were considering the Sphere, explaining that he would “fucking love to do it”. Robert Trujillo, meanwhile, said the “possibilities are endless” at the venue.

Before heading to Las Vegas, Metallica will embark on a UK and European tour later this year. The trek includes two nights at the London Stadium in July, following dates in Dublin, Glasgow and Cardiff. Find any remaining tickets here (UK and Ireland).

Hammett revealed last year that he had 767 new riffs for Metallica’s “next album”. Their 11th and latest full-length effort, ’72 Seasons’, arrived in 2023.

In other news, it has been reported that Tool are also in talks for a Sphere residency, which would coincide with a new album.
