Miley Cyrus has given fans an update on Dolly Parton’s health.
The update comes after Dolly, 79, postponed her Las Vegas residency in September, telling fans that doctors had told her she “must have a few procedures” done.
“As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” she quipped at the time.
She added, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” she
Fans became increasingly concerned after Dolly’s sister, Freida Parton, took to Facebook to say she was “up all night praying” for the “9 to 5” singer.
Now Miley has told fans that Dolly isn’t planning on slowing down any time soon. “She’s always gonna keep the show going,” Miley told Entertainment Tonight. “The show must go on,” she continued. “She’s just excited to get back to work.”
Dolly is Miley’s godmother. The pair share a close relationship, with Miley previously saying the country star “has been like a mother to me,” adding that, “Dolly is not only my idol because of her incomparable career – she’s also my role model because of her steadfast morals and values.”
She continued, “She’s even better than your sparkliest dreams. She may be my fairy godmother, but I think she’s that to everyone else too. I am happy to share her with the world”.
In July this year, Dolly revealed she was putting music on hold after her husband on almost 60 years, Carl Dean, died. He was 82.
“I can’t do it right now ’cause I got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of, you know, of getting emotional right now,” she told fans. But she promised she was just taking a break, rather than retiring completely.
“I’ll write something else, though, if it comes. I’m just putting that all on hold,” she said.
