Miley Cyrus—now just Miley, at least professionally—has a new album on the way. Bass Persuades (say that five times fast) lands September 18 via Atlantic, only a year and change after Cyrus’ last record, Something Beautiful. Check out the cover below.
On social media, Cyrus wrote: “Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.
Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.”
Since the release of Something Beautiful, Cyrus has hardly given herself a moment to breathe. She dropped a deluxe version of the album, featuring collaborations with David Byrne and Lindsey Buckingham; made an original song for James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash; and staged a Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special.
Cyrus has also announced two shows at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl to follow the release of Bass Persuades. Those are set for October 16 and 18.
Last week, Cyrus shared a touching tribute to her godmother Dolly Parton, who recently died at 80.
