Moby donating Coachella profits to four different animal rights organisations

Moby donating Coachella profits to four different animal rights organisations

Moby is donating his Coachella 2026 earnings to four different animal rights organisations.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Humane League, Mercy for Animals, and Direct Action Everywhere are set to receive a big chunk of cash from the 60-year-old musician-and-songwriter, following his April 10 and April 17 sets at the Indio, California-based music festival.

In a video shared to Instagram on Thursday (16.04.26), Moby said: “I’ll be giving 100 per cent of my profits from both shows at Coachella to four different animal rights organisations.

“And the reason I picked these four is because they do very unique, interesting things in the world of animal rights.

“To be clear, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of amazing animal rights organisations, but I just wanted to focus on these four for now.”

The longtime animal rights activist captioned the post: “Music is what I love, but working on animal rights is my life’s work.

“To that end I’ll be giving 100 per cent of my profits from my @coachella shows to @physicianscommittee @mercyforanimals @thehumaneleague @directactioneverywhere.

“My simple belief that every sentient being is entitled to live their life according to their will. (sic)”

Fans lauded Moby’s generosity in the post’s comments section, as one wrote: “YOU TRULY ARE ONE OF THE KINDEST HUMANS I KNOW! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO PROTECT THE VULNERABLE ANIMALS IN THE WORLD! THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU (sic).”

A second supporter typed: “Moby you are too kind for this world.”

And a third follower reacted: “Wow MOBY for president of HUMANITY (sic).”

The Go hitmaker’s passion for animal rights activism shines in multiple tattoos, including “Vegan For Life” on his neck, “Animal Rights” on his arms, and a small “V” on top of an “X” to the side of his right eye.

In 2019, the six-time Grammy Award nominee, real name Richard Hall, explained the meaning behind the single letters – “V” for veganism and “X” standing for “straight edge”, a reference to his abstention from drugs and alcohol – to his Instagram followers.

Moby shared a picture of himself dressed in smart attire with his neck tattoo visible, and captioned it: “All dressed up for the @idaorg gala.

“Oh, and I’ve been asked about the VX by my eye; V is for vegan, X is for straight edge.

“Straight edge because I simply can’t be a good activist if I’m lying in bed sick + hungover until 5pm every day.

“And of course vegan because I care about animals, human health, climate change, rainforest deforestation, workers rights, water use, famine, and all of the other horrifying things that are the result of using animals for food. (sic)”
