The electronic pioneer, who is a vocal and longtime critic of Trump, shared a video message on social media earlier this week, discussing the current political landscape in the US.
“The US is being run into the ground by a staggeringly incompetent and corrupt administration,” he wrote in the caption. “Unbelievably dark, dark times.”
In the clip itself, Moby explained to those outside of the United States that he and many other people are as confused as they are about what’s happening to the country in 2026.
“So a lot of my friends who live outside the United States keep asking me, ‘What the hell is going on in the United States?’ And the truth is, we don’t know,” he said. “The United States is being run by the most corrupt, evil, incompetent administration.
“And nobody knows what’s going on. It’s dark, dark times in the US.”
Moby joins fellow musicians like Billie Eilish, Bruce Springsteen, Jack White and Neil Young in hitting out against Trump, MAGA and ICE in recent months.
In January, Moby urged his fans to “stop supporting the scumbag corporations that support Donald Trump and ICE”. “The question is not whether we should be outraged and horrified at what’s happening in the United States, but rather what are we going to do about it,” he said.
Following Trump’s historic second election win in late 2024, the artist shared some advice for his followers, calling the victory “terrible” and “a really bad decision”. He added: “But the question is what do we do now?”
Back in 2019, Moby recalled the time he rubbed his penis on Trump long before he became President, after accepting a dare from a friend.
Moby is set to play his only London gig of the summer as part of the Labyrinth On The Thames series on August 15. It’ll follow his huge concert at Brighton Beach on July 26. Other upcoming live dates include Dublin and numerous European festivals, including Rock Werchter in Belgium and Madrid’s Mad Cool.
The electronic star released his latest studio album, ‘Future Quiet’, in February. He has since performed at Coachella, donating all profits from his fee to animal rights organisations.
