Mollie King is taking things ‘slowly’ following health scare

Mollie King is taking things ‘slowly’ following health scare

Mollie King has vowed to slow down following her recent health scare.

Earlier this week, the singer-turned-presenter revealed she’d been absent from her radio show for almost two weeks after collapsing on her bathroom floor, hitting her head and face as she fell.

Although Mollie has since returned to her weekday BBC Radio 1 slot, she admitted the ordeal has forced her to make some lifestyle changes.

“It’s been quite a tough time,” she wrote on Instagram on Thursday. “I’m definitely not back to full speed yet and I’m trying to remind myself that there’s no rush to be (please remind me of this next week!). But if these past few weeks have taught me anything it’s that sometimes I have to slow down and listen to what my body is telling me.”

Mollie has yet to disclose the reason behind her collapse, which saw her rushed to a London hospital in the middle of the night to receive treatment for her injuries.

The 38-year-old star’s partner, former England cricketer Stuart Broad, found her after the fall and stayed by her side until she received medical attention.

Thanking her social media followers for sending well wishes, the former Saturdays singer admitted the incident had left her shaken.

“I don’t know if you’re the same, but when something happens out of the blue and my body suddenly doesn’t do what you expect it to, it’s very easy for my mind to go into overdrive, trying to find answers and overthinking every little thing,” she confessed.

Elsewhere in the lengthy message, Mollie revealed the scare has reminded her she’s not “invincible” and she’s decided to take time to relax rather than “charging around at 100 miles per hour”.

As part of her new health kick, Mollie is embracing a “slightly different pace” of life by going to bed earlier, enjoying the great outdoors, and watching her favourite TV shows.

With the incident serving as a timely reminder not to take her health for granted, Mollie has also been enjoying quality time with her daughters, three-year-old Annabella and 17-month-old Liliana.

“I’ve always known that the most important thing in life is my family and being the best mum I can be to my two little girls,” she wrote, as she posted a short clip of her hugging her daughter.

“There is something really special about these quieter moments together that can get lost when life is moving at full speed. A bit of fresh air and focusing on getting my energy back. And honestly that feels pretty good.”
