Morgan Wallen Scores Milestone Seventh Country Airplay No. 1 From ‘I’m the Problem’

Morgan Wallen secures his 21st No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart as “Don’t We” rises a spot to the top of the tally dated Aug. 1. It earned 33.6 million audience impressions (up 5%) July 17-23, according to Luminate.

The song makes history as the seventh Country Airplay No. 1 from Wallen’s 2025 album I’m the Problem — which becomes the first set to have spun off that many leaders via only an original version. Luke Combs’ What You See Is What You Get also contains seven leaders, earned in 2019-21, combining its original and deluxe editions.

“Don’t We” follows previous I’m the Problem No. 1s “20 Cigarettes,” “I Got Better,” “Just in Case,” the title track, “Love Somebody” and “Lies Lies Lies,” which began the run in November 2024. The album outperforms his six chart-toppers from 2023’s One Thing at a Time.

I’m the Problem has led the Top Country Albums chart for 45 weeks, dating to its debut in May 2025.

Meanwhile, Wallen is among 10 artists with 21 or more leaders since Country Airplay began in January 1990. Kenny Chesney leads all acts with 33, followed by Blake Shelton (30), Tim McGraw (29), Jason Aldean (27), Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson, George Strait (26 each), Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban and Wallen (21 each).

More Morgan

Digging deeper into his success on Country Airplay, Wallen has charted 37 songs since debuting with “The Way I Talk” in 2016, a 57% No. 1 conversion rate. The percentage is even more impressive once he reaches the top 10: 21 of his 24 top 10s have gone on to reach No. 1, or 88%.

Plus, Wallen’s pace of triumphs has increased considerably. He has notched 16 of his 21 No. 1s since July 2022, including 10 since April 2024. He logged a career-best five leaders in 2024, followed by four in 2025, while “Don’t We” becomes his second of 2026.

“Don’t We” reaches No. 1 in its 21st chart week, becoming Wallen’s 11th solo-billed song since 2022 to top Country Airplay in 21 weeks or fewer. He has also been billed on two collaborations that each led within 21 weeks: Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” featuring Wallen, and Wallen’s “Cowgirls,” featuring Ernest.

Including “Don’t We,” 32 Country Airplay No. 1s since 2022 have reached the summit in 21 chart weeks or fewer. Wallen has been billed on 13 of them — 11 solo recordings and two collaborations — accounting for more than 40% of all songs to accomplish the feat over that span.

Of Wallen’s 12 previous No. 1s that scaled the summit in 21 weeks or fewer, six made the climb in 15 weeks or fewer. “I Had Some Help” was fastest, needing just seven. Among his solo recordings, “Last Night” and “I’m the Problem” each reached No. 1 in 11 weeks, followed by “Love Somebody” in 14. “Cowgirls” and “Just in Case” each took 15.

‘Boston’ Rides to Top 10

Newcomer Stella Lefty earns her first Country Airplay top 10 as “Boston” rises two spots to No. 9 (19 million, up 12%). Maren Morris is the only other woman in the last 10 years to enter the top 10 with a debut single in 14 weeks or fewer, as she did so in 11 weeks with “My Church” in 2016.
