Anitta
Brazilian pop star Anitta has become a true VMAs regular. She did “Girl From Rio,” in 2021, “Envolver,” in 2022, and an energetic medley last year. For the 2024 show, she will be doing “Savage Funk,” “Alegria,” and the world premiere of “Paradise,” with guest appearances by Fat Joe, DJ Khaled, and Tiago PZK.
Benson Boone
Washington singer Benson Boone makes his VMAs debut a few months after releasing his first studio album, Fireworks & Rollerblades. He is among the nominees for Best New Artist.
Camila Cabello
Camila Cabello will be performing at the VMAs for the third time. She made her debut in 2019, doing “Señorita” with her then-boyfriend Shawn Mendes. She returned, in 2021, for “Don’t Go Yet.”
Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan’s whirlwind year takes her to a place she’s never before been: the MTV Video Music Awards stage. She is a nominee for Best New Artist.
Eminem
Two years after performing “From the D 2 the LBC,” with Snoop Dogg, Eminem is headed back to the VMAs. The rapper, who recently released The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), will open the ceremony.
Glorilla
Glorilla won Best New Artist at the 2023 VMAs, and she is up for several more awards this year.
Halsey
Halsey releases her new album, The Great Impersonator, on October 25. She’ll be playing one of its new songs at the VMAs.
