Myleene Klass breaks silence on sitting out the Hear’Say reunion

Myleene Klass breaks silence on sitting out the Hear’Say reunion

Myleene Klass says she simply cannot “commit” to the 25th anniversary Hear’Say reunion “at the moment”.

The Pure and Simple hitmakers – who formed on TV talent show Popstars in 2001 before going their separate ways the following year – are keen to celebrate the milestone, so Noel Sullivan, Suzanne Shaw, Kym Marsh and Danny Foster will be going back out on the road, though Myleene has declined to be involved due to her hectic schedule.

During Monday’s (05.10.26) episode of ITV’s Loose Women, panellist Myleene – who is also a long-time presenter on Classic FM – explained that she has too many work commitments to tour.

She said: “Well, they were really sweet, and they did include me in the discussions. But it’s not something I can commit to at the moment. I just really can’t. I know that they’re still figuring out a lot of the moving parts of it, and until they do that, you know, there’s nothing sort of necessary set in stone. But for me, I’m just super busy. I’m committed to you guys.”

Myleene looks back on her time in the band fondly, and is still on good terms with her old bandmates.

She insisted: “I love the guys dearly. It was an incredibly important time in my life. It taught me so much. You know, epic songs like that and moments like that.”

The 48-year-old star did say she hasn’t completely ruled out revisiting Hear’Say and will be front row when they do get back onstage, though she quipped she has no idea if she remembers all the lyrics.

She said: “I would say never say never about anything because, as I said earlier to you guys, you know, I don’t really agree on revisiting the past.”

Myleene reiterated that nothing is “set in stone” yet, as far as she’s aware.

She said: “Like I said before, until there’s things set in stone, it’s very difficult to commit to something that’s so up in the air. And I think they’re just figuring things out as well. But I really do appreciate that they came and included me.”

Fans had speculated the group were planning to reunite when they brought back their Instagram page with a tease.

They shared a screen recording of a WhatsApp chat, in which Danny wrote: “Wow?.?.?. can you believe the response to that tour clip we posted?!”, referencing a video they had shared. Suzanne replied: “I know right, amazing! Ahhh the memories?.?.?.?can you believe it was 25 years ago?!”

Noel then commented: “OK, so hear me out?.?.?.?”

Kym asked: “Go on.”

Noel then added: “Fancy getting the band back together?”

While Myleene was included as a member of the chat, she didn’t send a message and her own Instagram account wasn’t tagged.

Hear’Say had initially planned to get back together for their 20th anniversary, but the plans were hit by multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and various personal issues, so they eventually pulled the plug entirely.

Kym previously revealed the group were keen to do something to mark the milestone moment they got together.

Despite Kym’s comments, Myleene insisted she didn’t want to be involved in a reunion because it would be a “backwards” step.
