Myles Smith collaborates with Stephen Graham for powerful new music video

To coincide with the global launch of his debut studio album, My Mess, My Heart, My Life., rising singer-songwriter Myles Smith has unveiled an incredibly moving cinematic music video for his latest single, “Hold Me In The Dark.” The project features a gripping performance from acclaimed British actor Stephen Graham and marks Smith’s official debut in the director’s chair. The cinematic film is scheduled for public release on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 5pm.

“‘Hold Me In The Dark’ is a song about loving someone through uncertainty and staying beside them when life feels impossibly heavy,” Smith shared, discussing the emotional weight driving the track. “The video explores that idea through the story of a father and daughter.”

The narrative structure of the video challenges initial audience perceptions, transforming a story of apparent distress into a deep testament of familial devotion. “What I love about the film is that, at first, you think you’re watching someone unravel,” Smith explained. “But as the story unfolds, you realise that every strange object and every seemingly irrational decision is actually an act of love. He’s not losing his grip on reality – he’s trying to do something impossible for the person he loves most.”

Ultimately, the singer-songwriter structured the visual piece to serve as a tribute to real-world caregivers and families enduring hardships. “At its heart, it’s a story about hope, sacrifice and the lengths we go to for the people we care about,” Smith noted. “Even in the darkest moments, love can still give us something to hold on to.”

He added, “It was also really important to me that the video shines a light on the extraordinary work that doctors and nurses do every day, and recognises the countless families navigating illness, grief and uncertainty. So many people know what it feels like to sit beside someone they love and wish they could somehow make things better. I hope this film makes those people feel seen and reminds them that even when we can’t fix everything, love can still be an incredibly powerful thing.”
