Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka has announced that she and her partner, rapper Cordae, are no longer in a relationship.
Osaka posted the news on her Instagram Story.
“No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad,” Osaka wrote.
“Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together.”
The tennis champ and Cordae, who began his career in the hip-hop collective YBN, have been romantically linked since 2019.
The two met at a Los Angeles Clippers game and kept their relationship under wraps until July that year, when Cordae confirmed it in an interview with GQ.
In July 2023 the two welcomed their daughter, Shai.
The Japanese superstar, who grew up in the US, had left fans wondering with cryptic notes about her personal life last week.
“I’ve come to the conclusion that what’s meant for me is meant for me and maybe certain situations occur to train my mind for what’s to come,” she wrote on Sunday.
“That being said this is about to be a great year.”
Osaka returned to the tour at last year’s Australian Open after a 15-month break.
Ahead of the Australian Open this year, which starts on Sunday, Osaka reached the final of a warm-up tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. She pulled out due to injury after taking the opening set.
