Pop-punk giants Neck Deep have launched their own video game to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their iconic track ‘December’.
‘December’ was released back in 2015 as part of Neck Deep’s second album ‘Life’s Not Out To Get You’. The band are heading out on an anniversary tour later this month but before that, they’ve shared a retro ‘December’-inspired video game.
The throwback side-scroller sees players take control of a skateboarding alien who must avoid obstacles and collect coins. The free-to-play game can be played here.
“Skate round the block a thousand times to earn as many points as you can! We made a Neck Deep game and we’re sending the top 3 players a merch bundle,” the band announced on Instagram. The competition ends December 31 and whoever is in the top three on the leaderboard then, wins. Good luck, nerds,” they added.
Speaking to NME last year, Neck Deep’s Ben Barlow described ‘December’ as the band’s “unofficial” Christmas song. “Sometimes they’re the best Christmas songs, the ones that just suit that time. We get a nice little nice little bump in the algorithm every year!”
Despite being released a decade ago, the punk anthem is still racking up the streams while BLACKPINK’s Rosé covered ‘December’ back in 2022. “It’s wild,” Barlow continued. “She didn’t have to do that, so it’s really sick because it massively shone a light on that song. Some of the success we’ve had in Asia, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was down to that.”
Neck Deep’s ten-year ‘Life’s Not Out To Get You’ anniversary tour kicks off next week with two hometown shows at Wrexham’s The Rockin’ Chair. From there, the band will play Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham ahead of a gig at London’s O2 Academy Brixton. Check out the full schedule below:

Next year, Neck Deep will be opening for Simple Plan on their European arena run. “We couldn’t be more excited to bring our very own ‘Bigger Than You Think!’ tour all across the continent, playing full headline shows and extending our 25th anniversary celebrations,” Simple Plan said in a statement. “This means we will be performing all of our biggest hits along with fan favourites we rarely play live, spanning our entire discography. And we’re also bringing our friends Neck Deep with us, so these are going to be really special shows!”
In other news, the latest Mario Kart World update has made some major changes to the hit game, and fans are delighted.
