Niall Horan calls home pub ‘worst idea’ he’s ever had

Niall Horan has admitted building a pub in his London home was “the worst idea” he has ever had.

The former One Direction star has revealed that he had a pub built in the basement of his $13 million (£10 million) property but now regrets the decision.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, Niall explained that the extravagant feature quickly became a regular late-night destination for friends after pubs in the capital had closed.

“We built a pub in the basement,” he stated. “I mean a pub not a bar, and it has to be the worse idea I have ever had.”

Explaining why, the Slow Hands hitmaker said the space often fills up after nights out.

“Pubs in London shut at 11pm, there is no 2am finishes and everyone goes, ‘I wonder where we are going next…’ So all of a sudden I have a house full of people,” he told host Jimmy Kimmel.

Niall added that it can be difficult to get guests to leave, though he has developed a method to get everyone out.

“It’s pretty tough to get people to leave. I do have a side entrance to the house that I can ferry people out the door,” he explained. “I’m pretty good at it, turn the music off and turn the lights off.”

The 32-year-old singer also revealed the pub includes a piano, but said he rarely performs for guests, noting that “it’s the last thing I need after I’ve had a few drinks”.

Niall shares the west London home with his girlfriend, Amelia Woolley. The couple are reported to have been together since 2020, although they didn’t go public with their relationship until September 2021.
