Nick Cannon reveals he’s ‘always open’ to reuniting with ex-wife Mariah Carey

Nick Cannon has told how his ex-wife Mariah Carey is his “greatest friend.”

The former couple were married from 2008 until 2016. They share 15-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

Now he’s opened up about their current relationship and how they’re in constant contact about their children.

“We were able to, kind of, move on and be amicable and be the best parents we can, he told US Weekly, adding that they talk “almost every day or every other day” about their kids. He added, “We gotta operate as a unit, but it’s definitely departmentalised.”

He admitted there is constant speculation about whether they will ever reunite. “We were laughing about (reports we’re not close),” he said. “I was like, ‘Who is telling people that?’ On the flip side, I’ve heard we’re getting back together. I’ll deliver the truth with the doc. I’m always open (to that). Our divorce wasn’t messy. We were able to move on and be the best parents we can.’

He explained how the singer has taught him a lot over the past almost 20 years. “I learned so much. I always say Mariah Carey was my greatest friend and my greatest teacher all at the same time,” he said.

“What I learned most from her is how to hold on to what’s true and create your own spaces, without letting outside energy infiltrate. I’ve never seen somebody operate on their own frequency, and it’s always so positive. And you know all that she’s been through in her life. I think that’s what keeps her going – her faith and her ability to block out negative energy. You feel like you know her, but she keeps all the things that are meaningful to her to herself.”
