No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont has revealed he was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease “a number of years ago”.

The musician shared the personal update with his Instagram followers on Saturday, going into detail about his health issues in a video filmed at his home.

“I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, did a whole bunch of tests, and I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease,” he recalled in the upload. “It’s been a struggle. It’s a struggle every day.”

Referring to the band’s upcoming Las Vegas residency, Dumont noted the good news is that he can still play music.

“I can still play guitar. I’ve been doing really well.”

Dumont explained his decision to share the news by saying, “I’ve just been very inspired by other people who have come out to talk about their health issues on social media, and that sort of thing.

“I think it helps erase some of the stigma, and it raises awareness obviously,” he continued. “And awareness is really important for prevention and for research.”

Dumont, elsewhere in the video, gushed about how much “fun” it has been preparing for the Vegas gigs.

“I’m really excited about the shows, can’t wait to see everybody.”

His fellow No Doubt band members shared supportive comments over the weekend.

“My friend, bandmate, and hero, I love you, brother,” drummer Adrian Young wrote, while bassist Tony Kanal commented, “Love you beyond words, my friend. Can’t wait to get on stage with you again.”

No Doubt formed in 1986 and have taken multiple breaks over the years as lead singer Gwen Stefani pursued a solo career. They most recently reunited for a Coachella 2024 performance after nearly a decade apart.
