A Noah Kahan concert was among the shows cancelled in New York this weekend due to inclement weather.

The folk star’s ‘Great Divide’ tour stop was due to hit Citi Field in Queens on Saturday night (July 18), but was ultimately cancelled after the stadium’s team spent the afternoon monitoring weather patterns in the New York City area.

“The show tonight at Citi Field has been cancelled due to inclement weather. This was a very difficult decision to make, but the first priority is always to keep everyone safe,” an update from the venue shared on Saturday read. “Rain showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of damaging wind gusts and flash flooding, were expected into the night.”

Kahan also shared an update with fans on his Instagram, writing: “Exhausted every option to make this happen.. love you guys.”

At the time of writing, no alternative date has been announced for the July 18 concert, which was meant to be night one of a two-night stint at Citi Field, with the second gig scheduled to go ahead this evening (July 19).

As well as Kahan’s axed gig, Forest Hills Stadium was also forced to call off Saturday night’s Zeds Dead concert. “There’s another storm that’s supposed to move in and we can’t even build our production anyway with all the delays from the rain already,” they wrote in a statement released a few hours before the show.

The concert has now been postponed to August 14, with original tickets valid for the new date, with refunds available at original point of purchase.

For Kahan, it’s the latest on what has been a somewhat embattled tour, with The Independent reporting that many fans have taken to social media to fume after being left in the rain in the hopes the gig would go on.

Other recent stops on the tour have seen Kahan call out fans for stealing road signs and shitting in their seats at gigs.

“If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao,” Kahan wrote in a post to X last month (June 27, after one fan reportedly defecated in their seat rather than miss a song.

“I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”

The trek comes in celebration of his fourth studio album, ‘The Great Divide’, which came out on April 24, and was followed with the announcement of a world tour to go alongside the new record. He plays around Australia and New Zealand in September and October, before heading to the UK and Ireland in November and then mainland Europe.
