Oasis documentary Don’t Look Back In Anger dominates UK box office

Oasis fans donned bucket hats and band tees to flood cinemas nationwide as the newly released documentary film, Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, recorded a powerful £2.66M opening weekend across the UK and Ireland box office. The tally includes initial revenue generated from Wednesday and Thursday preview screenings ahead of its full theatrical launch.

The feature film has earned widespread critical and public acclaim, holding a 96% Fresh critics’ rating alongside a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. High ratings across Letterboxd and IMDb further highlight the movie’s immense popularity among cinema-goers. Film distributors remind fans that the theatrical run is strictly limited, with screenings scheduled in UK and Ireland cinemas only until Thursday 24 September 2026.

Created and written by Steven Knight and co-directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger charts Liam and Noel Gallagher’s triumphant reunion tour, Oasis Live ‘25, recognized as one of the most anticipated rock ‘n’ roll comebacks in modern history. The documentary offers an unapologetically uplifting account of the musical event, capturing the shared emotional experience between the band and their global fanbase.

Providing unprecedented access, the film features behind-the-scenes footage, rehearsal tapes, energetic stage recordings, and the first joint interviews conducted with Noel and Liam Gallagher in over two decades. Alongside capturing sold-out stadium shows around the world, the documentary explores the profound cultural legacy of the group and examines what their catalogue means to multiple generations of music lovers.

Distributed via Walt Disney Studios UK, the cinematic event serves as the definitive visual chronicle of the band’s historic return to the stage. Audiences across the UK and Ireland can catch the film in local cinemas through 24 September.
