The song, which arrives with a visual directed by Offset, marks the second time the rappers have collaborated this year
Flexing comes easy for Offset and Gunna in the newly-released music video for their latest collaboration “Style Rare.” Directed by Offset and Joshua “Mid Jordan” Farias, the video is a backdrop for the new single which finds both rappers rattling off a laundry list of luxuries.
“I’m in this shit without regrets/Just me in my coupe, ISS/I drip when I walk, I’m possessed/This rose look good on my flesh/These Rolls Royce back to back, yes/I’m floatin’ on that shit like a jet ski,” Offset raps in the opening verse, just before he casually drops his travel plans: “In Florence, Dubai next week.”
Gunna’s verse, on the other hand, flexes both material and personal achievements. “My diamonds and gold in a chest, a Damier Louis V chest/Put it on, I can go Damier, R.I.P. Virgil, he gave me the credit,” he raps, shoutout out the late designer Virgil Abloh. “Ten years from now, look back on this shit and I promise I’m doin’ my best/That growth, they see as iconic/Let’s go, let’s count up this money.”
“Style Rare” marks the second collaboration from Offset and Gunna this year. The Atlanta rappers previously joined forces on “Prada Dem,” a track from Gunna’s latest album One of Wun. With “Style Rare,” Gunna continues his streak of featured appearances that recently expanded to include guest spots alongside Normani on “1:59” and Tyla on “Jump” with Skillibeng.
Meanwhile, Offset has been expanding his creative palette as a solo artist. Earlier this year, he embarked on his own headlining Set It Off tour in support of his album of the same name. “’SET IT OFF’ is more than a phrase, it’s a vibe we’re creating together,” he said at the time. “This tour is not just a series of concerts, it’s a journey into my mind.”
