Offset has returned to the stage for the first time since he was shot outside a Florida casino last week.
The former Migos rapper made his live performance comeback at Rowfest in Arkansas on Saturday, marking his return to the stage after he was shot on 6 April.
The 34-year-old, real name Kiari Cephus, posted footage from the performance on Instagram, showing him being rolled onto the stage in a wheelchair before triumphantly standing up as the crowd went wild. Offset had a large armchair on the stage, but managed to perform standing up for a portion of his set.
“REAL LOVE,” Offset captioned the video. He followed it up with a carousel of photos of him relaxing by a swimming pool, and he added, “God is Good Thank you.”
The Bad and Boujee rapper was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida following an altercation last week. He was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries and released two days before his performance.
Offset issued his first statement about the incident via Instagram on Friday.
“Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love! I’m good…. but I’m planning to be better,” he wrote. “I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music…. realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses…”
He concluded, “Life’s a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”
Nobody has been formally charged over the shooting yet.
Fellow rapper Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident and released from custody the same day.
