Olivia Dean responds to ‘hilarious’ reactions to her song So Easy (To Fall in Love)

Olivia Dean has reacted to the “hilarious” male reactions to her song So Easy (To Fall in Love).

During a recent interview with Elle, the rising British singer-songwriter revealed that her recently released song was “specifically written to uplift other women”.

Since its release in late September, however, a number of men have taken to TikTok to share videos of themselves enjoying the women-centred track.

“It’s hilarious!” Olivia told the publication. “It’s actually so sweet that straight men are enjoying the song in that way, because at the end of the day, sometimes men can be quite obliterated in pop culture and told that they’re trash, they’re useless. And… sure.”

The 26-year-old continued, “But I do think to move forward, perhaps we do need to let them know that we do need them. Women need men, men need women.”

Olivia went on to encourage men to listen to her music, while jokingly reminding women to “keep (their) wits about (them)”.

“And if they’re enjoying my music, go off, my straight kings. You thirst trap away,” the Nice To Each Other hitmaker said. “But women, keep your wits about you.”

So Easy (To Fall in Love) appears on Olivia’s second album, The Art of Loving, which was released on 26 September.
