Øya Festival 2026: CMAT, Sombr, Underworld among latest wave of additions to line-up

Øya Festival has announced another wave of acts for 2026, including CMAT, Sombr and Underworld. Find all the details below.

The Norwegian event is due to take place at Tøyen Park in Oslo between Wednesday August 12 and Saturday August 15. The Cure were announced as the first headliners last month, with Amyl & The Sniffers also appearing on the first line-up.

Later, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were revealed as bill-toppers as part of their European tour next year.

Orangisers have now shared another run of names, and promised to announce another headliner “soon”.

Joining the aforementioned CMAT, Sombr and Underworld on the latest poster are Lambrini Girls, Oslo-based folk outfit Valkyrien Allstars, Norwegian rapper Anakin Justin, Chicago R&B singer Ravyn Lenae, and rising Oslo singer-songwriter May.

Tickets for Øya Festival 2026 are on sale now – you can buy yours here.

This year’s edition of Øya Festival boasted headline sets from Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Queens Of The Stone Age and Girl In Red. Elsewhere on the line-up were the likes of Fontaines D.C., Kneecap, Wet Leg, Beth Gibbons, Lola Young, Heartworms, Kelly Lee Owens and Khruangbin.

Speaking to NME at the event, boss Claes Olsen discussed putting on one of Europe’s most acclaimed and progressive festivals at a time of challenging world politics, and talked about potential headliners for the future.

“I like to see bands grow organically to that. There are a few smaller acts that I think are really, really good,” Olsen explained. “We have a great story with Girl In Red, who played our demo stage in her first year [in 2018] and now she’s headlining; she’s been touring all over the world since. I hope that happens again.

“People always ask, ‘Who’s the next big thing?’ You never know. In April last year, when we started talking to Charli XCX and Chappell Roan, we weren’t discussing headline slots in the beginning, then things just grew and grew.”

Olsen was then pressed on his personal dream bill-toppers, to which he responded: “It would be Depeche Mode, but I’m pretty sure we can’t fit in their production.”

As for what first-timers could expect from Øya, he said: “We have a very unique festival site of amphitheatres where you can get very close to the stages. You can stay very close by in the city; there are a lot of venues that you can go to afterwards. It’s the whole package.

“People always tell us that there’s more space, it’s easy to get around, and you can get very close to big artists.”

Meanwhile, CMAT has been announced as a headliner for London’s LIDO Festival 2026. In other news, Underworld have shared details of their ‘(nuxx) thirty’ anniversary gigs in the capital for next year.
