Ozzy Osbourne’s family reveal Donald Trump left voicemail and King Charles sent message after icon’s death

Ozzy Osbourne’s family have shared that both Donald Trump and King Charles reached out to them after learning of the Prince Of Darkness’ death.

The metal icon passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, just over two weeks after he played his last ever show as the frontman of Black Sabbath at a concert at Villa Park in Birmingham.

Following the news breaking, countless tributes came from friends, fans, and others in the music industry, paying their condolences. Now, Ozzy’s widow Sharon has confirmed that US President Donald Trump was among those who got in touch.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast, Sharon and two of their children, Jack and Kelly, looked back at the huge global influence Ozzy had, and shared the message that Trump left to them on a voicemail after learning the news.

“Hi, Sharon, it’s Donald Trump, and I just wanted to wish you the best,” he can be heard saying. “Ozzy was amazing. He was an amazing guy. I met him a few times, and I want to tell you he was unique in every way and talented.

“So I just wanted to wish you the best, and it’s a tough thing. I know how close you were, and whatever I can do. Take care of yourself. Say hello to the family.”

After the message finished, Jack shared: “Love him or hate him, he didn’t have to call and leave a voicemail.” Sharon continued to recall her time on Trump’s reality show Celebrity Apprentice, and spoke about what it was like knowing the President and his wife, first lady Melania Trump.

“All I know is a man that I know, I worked with for a month. I spent one month with him and his wife, who was always gracious, elegant, just a delight to talk to, his wife,” she said on the podcast.

“He was always [asking] ‘How are the children? How’s Kelly? I’m so proud of Kelly and Jack for what they’ve done and their manners are great.’ And he was just a great guy to talk to and he has always treated me with respect.”

Touching on how the comments may be divisive, Sharon went on to say that she has never voted and “never will”, however “all I know is he’s treated me with respect, your father with respect. He wanted nothing from us. Nothing. Melania — the same. Nothing. And they have been great.”

“And for him to take his time to do that for us…” she added, starting to cry.

Also in the podcast episode, the Osbournes shared that another name who got in touch after Ozzy’s death was King Charles, who wrote a personal letter.

“We got a lovely letter from the king,” Jack said, and Sharon added: “Our king, he’s an amazing person. Not just because he wrote to us when Ozzy passed… if he did it for us, you know he does it for many, many, many people.

“Here’s a man who does know what’s going on in the street with people, not just politics. Here’s a man who cares about the environment, animals. He cares about many, many, many things. He’s got a good heart,” she continued, also sharing that he had reached out before to wish Ozzy a happy birthday in the past.

“When Ozzy was sick in hospital with the motorbike accident, he reached out. He’s a good, caring man with a good heart. Ozzy, as me… we’re royalists. We respect him, we respect his family,” Sharon said. “He took the time out of his day to write us, have it hand-delivered to us, a note from the king for Ozzy’s passing with his condolences. And that says so much.”

Also in that new episode of the podcast, the family revealed that Ozzy was secretly hospitalised just two weeks before his final concert. While he had struggled with a number of medical conditions over the years– including Parkinson’s Disease – Jack shared that “things started getting worse” in the first week of December 2024, when Ozzy “took a little fall”.

Before then, Jack said the final Black Sabbath show felt like a “living wake” for his father, and the final stage of Ozzy’s life was captured in the BBC documentary Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home.

There is another new documentary out too, called, Ozzy: No Escape From Now. Available to stream on Paramount+, it goes through details the Prince Of Darkness’ final six years.
