Paul Simon announces ‘A Quiet Celebration’ 2026 UK and European tour

Paul Simon has announced details of ‘A Quiet Celebration’ UK and European tour, set to kick off in 2026.

The new dates were announced today (Friday December 12), and come as an extension to the tour that the soloist and Simon & Garfunkel icon launched in the US earlier this summer – his comeback after seven years of being retired.

Shows commence with three nights at the Congress Centre in Prague on April 9, 10 and 12, before continuing with two stops in Berlin and two stops in Copenhagen. From there, Simon will play three nights in Amsterdam and three nights in Brussels at the end of the month.

In May, the ‘You Can Call Me Al’ singer will make two back-to-back appearances at the Grand Rex in Paris, before kicking off the UK and Ireland dates. These include a show at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, followed by two gigs in Glasgow.

Two nights are lined up for London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 13 and 14, before the tour wraps up in Dublin shortly after.

Each night will open with a full rendition of his 33-minute, Grammy-nominated composition, ‘Seven Psalms’, which he released in 2023. It will then be followed by an assortment of classics and rarities.

Tickets go on sale next Wednesday (December 17) at 10am. Visit here for UK tickets, and here for European tickets.

Over the summer, the songwriting icon was forced to postpone two of his aforementioned US dates after experiencing “chronic and intense back pain”.

“Today it became unmanageable and demands immediate attention,” his statement at the time read. “Unfortunately, we have to cancel these shows at this time, as we don’t have the ability to reschedule them.”

“However, we are hopeful after this minor surgical procedure which has been scheduled in the next few days, Paul will be able to complete the tour as well as look into returning to make up these dates.”

Back in 2018, Simon played in New York’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park in what was described as his final-ever concert at the time. “I’ve often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I’d consider bringing my performing career to a natural end,” he said back then. “Now I know: it feels a little unsettling, a touch exhilarating and something of a relief.”

He then went on to discuss his struggles with hearing loss last year, explaining how it made the recording process of his 2023 album ‘Seven Psalms’ “incredibly frustrating”.
