A “Director’s Cut” for the 21st Century
Far from a standard remaster, the band describes this project as a “director’s cut.” Returning to the original master tapes with producer Rob Kirwan, Placebo have reworked and embellished all ten original tracks—including era-defining hits like “Nancy Boy” and “36 Degrees”—alongside two bonus tracks.
“When we made the first album, we didn’t yet have the experience or the studio knowledge to fully translate what was in our heads,” the band explained. “This project was about finally finishing the record, dragging it into the 21st century sonically, while preserving the integrity and the spirit of the original. It’s about completing it.”
30th Anniversary World Tour: Tickets on Sale Now
To celebrate the milestone, Placebo will embark on an extensive 36-date UK and European arena tour starting in September 2026, see here. Fans can expect a career-spanning setlist focused on their first two seminal albums, Placebo and Without You I’m Nothing, featuring several deep cuts that haven’t been performed live in over 20 years.
The tour kicks off in Portugal before traversing the continent and culminating in a massive UK run, including a headline date at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 5 December. Before the tour begins, the band will also perform at the Royal Albert Hall later this month for the Teenage Cancer Trust concert series at the invitation of Robert Smith.
