Post Malone Will Perform Super Bowl Weekend Concert With New Music ‘Allegedly’

Artist claims he has “maybe, definitely” new music in the works

If you’re not headlining the Super Bowl (and you don’t want to even think about going up against Bad Bunny), you should plan a big concert a little bit before the Super Bowl. Post Malone will do just that with a Bud Light–sponsored gig billed to Post Malone & Buddies on Feb. 6, two days before the big game, at Fort Mason in San Francisco, according to Billboard, which did not confirm the identities of Post’s buddies. The Super Bowl (and Bad Bunny’s halftime show) will take place on Feb. 8 about an hour away from Posty’s show, so fans could ostensibly hit up both.

The more exciting news for everyone who can’t afford such extravagances is that Malone is promising new music by then. The artist told a Billboard reporter that he would “a hundred percent” play new tunes at the show. “We’ve been working very, very diligently on new music,” he said. “And we have 45 songs. It’s just a matter of finishing said songs. And the schedule has been so very busy. So we’re working and working, but there will be new music by then… Allegedly.”

Then he prevaricated in a way Oasis’ Gallagher bothers would appreciate: “Allegedly a hundred percent maybe, definitely,” he said.

Last year, the artist sang “America the Beautiful” before the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. This year, around the Super Bowl in New Orleans, he headlined YouTube’s Tailgate Concert and a Bud Light Backyard concert. Post Malone mostly recently performed at the halftime show of a Cowboys-Chiefs game on Thanksgiving.

In an admission that would surprise nobody, Post Malone also told Billboard that given the chance of headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, y’know, the really big concert, the one Bad Bunny is doing this year, he “would love to.”
