Rapper Future seeks contempt order over ex’s leaks to media

Future is asking to have his ex-girlfriend Brittni Mealy found in contempt of court.

The rapper has asked a judge to rule on his request weeks after accusing Mealy of leaking information about him.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Future wants the judge to sanction his former partner for violating court orders. The outlet reports that much of the motion is redacted, but in essence, the Wait For U singer is claiming she’s been passing information to the media about him.

Last month, Mealy filed a petition that accused him of breaching a 2023 court order. She alleged the rapper had failed to obtain a $500,000 (£370,000) life insurance policy benefitting their 13-year-old son, Prince.

At the time, it was reported that Mealy wanted him held in contempt of court and put behind bars until he complied.

TMZ reported that Mealy claimed the rapper had not seen their son in 16 months. She included emails from Future’s team in which they told her they believed she had leaked her lawsuit to the press. She denied the claims.

Future, real name Nayvadius DeMun Cash, denied the allegations, and now, he’s filed a petition of his own.

Dubbed one of the most influential artists of modern hip-hop, the star is widely reported to have up to nine children with different mothers.

His seven confirmed kids include his first son, Jakobi, born in 2002, and a daughter, Londyn, with India J Future. Mealy announced the birth of Prince in 2012, and two years later, Future Zahir was born to singer Ciara.

In 2018, Future celebrated the arrival of his son Hendrix. He is also father to daughter Paris and son Kash, whose mothers remain unnamed.

The Life Is Good rapper shared that he wants to keep expanding his family in an interview with GQ.

“If I ever get married, I wanna have kids by my wife, of course. It could be like three, ’cause I’ve never had more than one kid by a girl. I feel like it’ll be more special.”
