The collaboration arrives alongside “Bobby,” a solo single from Lenae, who recently told Rolling Stone that her next album is “nearing the end”

Ravyn Lenae and Dominic Fike are enjoying the view through their rose-colored glasses on the new single “Reputation.”

“You look so good, boy, when you lie/I don’t know, maybe I’m just in denial/Don’t wanna change your reputation,” Lenae sings on the breezy record. Her reluctance comes after Fike sings, “I’ll always put you first, I’m your three-letter word/I’m loyal to a fault like a dog, just like a dog.”

“The funnest thing about collaborating is being able to step out of your world for a second and step into somebody else’s,” Lenae recently told Rolling Stone in a previous unreleased portion of her Future of Music interview. “I think that’s so fun to do, especially when you’re deep in the album-making process and it’s just been your world for a while. It’s fun to just pop out and be able to kind of mold yourself to what someone else is doing.”

“Reputation” arrives alongside “Bobby,” a new solo single from Lenae. Her third studio album, which will follow 2024’s Bird’s Eye, is “nearing the end,” she recently shared. “It has to be something I can live with forever,” she said. “This is the most I’ve gotten in the weeds of every part of the album … The thing that people can expect from me every time is I’m going to try something different, even if I’m just twisting the knob slightly to the left. Every single time, I’m going to challenge the last thing.”

Meanwhile, Fike is riding the recent unexpected surge of “Babydoll,” which currently sits at Number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was originally released in 2018, but experienced a significant boost in streams earlier this year. Last month, Spotify reported that “Babydoll” had seen a 175 percent increase in streams since February, when it first debuted at Number 97 on the Hot 100.

“Looking back now that time ends up meaning the most. Before algorithms before other peoples words- even hearing from people I admire. Everything that comes after only makes it harder,” Fike shared in a statement at the time. “So don’t think you’re missing something to chase what you want. It’s probably already there. Thankful for everyone on this journey. Everyone listening to old songs and new. This one has only gotten more special to me.”
