Ray J gave a bleak update on his health in resurfaced video recordings from a recent Instagram Live, which show the singer claiming he is in his “last days” and only has months to live. “2027, it’s definitely a wrap for me,” the 45-year-old said on Sunday. “That’s what the doctor said.”
Ray J was recently hospitalized for pneumonia, sharing online, “I want to thank everybody for praying for me. I was in a hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right.”
In the circulating clips from the Instagram Live, Ray J went on to detail the impact years of substance abuse has had on his heart health, which he stated is “black” on the right side. Reflecting on his excessive usage, like consuming four to five bottles of alcohol per day and taking 10 doses of Adderall, he said he thought, “I can handle all the alcohol, I can handle all the Adderall, the drugs, I can handle everything — but I couldn’t. It curved my time.”
“I fucked my shit up real bad,” Ray J continued. In the five-minute clip, he claimed his bills are currently being handled by his sister, Brandy. “Shout out to Brandy for looking out for me,” he said. “She paid my bills for me for the rest of the year.” In the meantime, he’s also making plans to seek treatment in Haiti. “I think I’m going to Haiti because they got the cure,” he said. “So I’m going to Haiti in like two weeks, I’m gonna stream it, I’m gonna do everything. But I fucked up.”
Ray J expressed regret that he can’t spend more time with his two children during his “last days” due to an ongoing legal battle with his wife, Princess Love. “But I love my baby mama more than anything, anything. She don’t know how drastic the time is that I got, but she is life,” he said. “If I could drive over to where my baby mama is with my kids right now and just spend time with them for the next two or three months, I would do that. But I got a criminal protective order where I can’t see them.”
In December, Ray J was placed on a restraining order blocking him from contacting Princess Love. The singer was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at her during a livestream.
Representatives for Ray J did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.
