Reid Perry has announced his departure from The Band Perry.
The decision leaves his sister, Kimberly, as the only original member.
“To the fans, you’ve always been my favourite part of this,” Reid wrote on Instagram on Monday. “I’ve decided to leave TBP.”
“For me, it was and will always be about making great country music, with and for the hardworking people who love it and live it,” he continued.
“Thank you for every memory. I’ll see you back in the saddle. I wish Kimberly and TBP the best as they move forward into the future.”
The bassist and vocalist further revealed that he is leaving to focus on managing other artists, including The Voice alum Ryan Coleman.
Kimberly acknowledged her brother’s exit from the band and wished him well.
“Reid! Wishing you the most wonderful successes in your new era!” she commented. “Love you, brother!”
Reid formed The Band Perry with Kimberley and brother Neil, gaining success with their hit If I Die Young in 2010.
The trio went on to win the Best Country Duo/Group Performance Award for Gentle on My Mind at the 2015 Grammys.
Earlier this year, The Band Perry returned to its country roots with Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello, taking over from Neil.
