Should it hold its position, “Rein Me In” will equal Wet Wet Wet’s 1994 hit “Love Is All Around” as the British single with the most weeks at Number 1 in chart history. Having already established itself as the longest-running chart-topper of the 2020s, the track continues to fend off heavy commercial competition.
However, challenges persist further down the Top 3. Michael Jackson’s classic “Billie Jean” remains steady at Number 2, while Harry Styles is poised to advance. Driven by a massive stadium run at Wembley as part of his Together, Together tour, Styles’ single “American Girls” has climbed five places to Number 3.
The week’s highest new entry is expected from American singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers. Her new single “Lost Boys”—her first material in three years—is currently tracking at Number 15. The entry looks set to secure Bridgers her first-ever UK Top 40 milestone.
Further movement in the Top 10 includes Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” which climbs to Number 8 following its Top 10 debut last week. Close behind, Prospa and Cloonee’s dance track “Free Your Mind” looks likely to break into the top tier for the first time, rising three places to Number 9. Olivia Dean also secures a double Top 10 presence, with her solo track “Man I Need” sitting at Number 10.
Outside the top flight, Gracie Abrams is tracking to land two concurrent Top 40 singles; “Look At My Life” sits at Number 25, while “Hit The Wall” places at Number 36. French DJ Hugel is also on course for a first UK Top 40 appearance, with “Movin’ To The Sun” leaping 29 spots to Number 30.
