Riley Keough has confronted long-running allegations about Michael Jackson.
The 35-year-old actress is the daughter of the late singer Lisa Marie Presley – who was married to the late music icon Jackson from 1994 until 1996.
Jackson, who died at the age of 50 in 2009, was dogged by child sex abuse allegations in his later years – accusations that he vehemently denied and of which he was never found guilty during his lifetime.
Keough was five when her mother married Jackson and, during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week, has revealed she was never told anything about the accusations her late step-father faced.
The Daisy Jones and the Six star said, “I was never told anything. It’s actually not something I ever asked as an adult… I think it just was what it was. I don’t know, it just never came to mind, I guess.”
During her chat on the audio series, she explained that there were levels of extravagance that Jackson introduced to the lives of her, her mother, and her late brother, Benjamin.
She recalled, “Our life wasn’t crazier because that was already there. That already existed, like the press and the crazy, the paparazzi, but … I think when she saw Michael’s life, there were things that he had that she didn’t have.
“She didn’t have a plane at the time or things like that, and so she then was like, ‘Oh, I should have a plane and I should have this and that,’ and so our life in that way kind of got bigger.”
