Robbie Williams has parted ways with his management team.
The Let Me Entertain You singer has confirmed a report revealing that he has parted ways with his manager Michael Loney after 14 years.
The shake-up comes ten years after the passing of Williams’s mentor and manager, David Enthoven, who co-founded the management company, ie:music, with Tim Clark in 1992.
“It’s been an incredible time and I was fortunate to be managed by some truly wonderful people – most specifically David Enthoven, Tim Clark and Michael Loney,” the Rock DJ hitmaker said in a statement to The Sun.
“However, at this particularly buoyant time of my career, with so many opportunities in front of me and with the music business changing so rapidly, I felt it was time for a change – a fresh energy.”
He added, “I am currently putting together a brand new team and am hugely excited about the future.”
Insiders told the publication that the split was “entirely amicable” and that Williams felt the urge for a fresh start following the success of his album Britpop in January.
With its release, the star overtook The Beatles to become the artist with the most number one albums in U.K. history.
“He broke The Beatles’ record at the start of the year. That filled him with a desire to set the bar as high as he can going forward,” the insider said. “Robbie is forever buzzing with ideas about what he can do next. Whether that’s his music, his art or his other business interests.”
The news comes almost two weeks after Williams fronted a tribute performance to Ozzy Osbourne at the BRIT Awards. He sang a rendition of No More Tears alongside Zakk Wylde, Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo and Tommy Clufetos, musicians who have played with the late rocker over the years.
