Since first achieving worldwide acclaim as the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, Plant’s curiosity has continually led him across musical boundaries, establishing him as one of American roots music’s most passionate advocates and celebrated interpreters. His groundbreaking collaborations with Alison Krauss and producer T Bone Burnett on the Grammy Award-winning album Raising Sand introduced millions of listeners to the depth of the genre, effectively prompting the Recording Academy to establish a dedicated Best Americana Album category.
Plant continued this deep exploration alongside collaborators Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller for Band of Joy, and again on a second acclaimed duet album with Krauss, Raise the Roof. More recently, on his record Saving Grace and its follow-up EP Saving Grace: All That Glitters…, he joined forces with singer Suzi Dian and a band of musicians from the Welsh borders. Together, they recorded critically acclaimed versions of Americana gems by artists such as Gillian Welch, Memphis Minnie, Blind Willie Johnson, and Low.
