Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, Paul Weller & more unite for Bob Harris tribute at Royal Albert Hall

Royal Albert Hall will host a special one-night-only concert on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, to celebrate the life and career of legendary British music broadcaster Bob Harris OBE. Titled Stand By Me: Bob Harris – A Celebration of Life In Music, the landmark event brings together an extraordinary lineup of rock, folk, country, and pop icons who have been championed by the famous presenter throughout his five decades on air.

Royal Albert Hall will welcome a stellar gathering of musical talent for the occasion, featuring performances by Roger Daltrey, Paul Weller, Robert Plant with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian, and Rick Wakeman. The lineup also includes Carly Pearce, Chris Difford, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Judie Tzuke, Kate Rusby, The Shires, Kezia Gill, and Toby Lee, with further guest acts expected to be announced. The evening’s house band will be led by musical director Ethan Johns and features acclaimed musicians Jeremy Stacey, Neil Cowley, Nick Pini, Mollie Marriott, and Siobhan Maher Kennedy.

Royal Albert Hall holds a deep personal significance for “Whispering Bob,” who first attended concerts at the London venue in 1968 and describes the upcoming tribute as the realization of a dream. Beyond live music, the evening will showcase archive footage spanning his career on the big screen, alongside guest presenters sharing personal memories. Harris himself will be in attendance in the audience to enjoy the tributes from his longtime friends and colleagues.

Royal Albert Hall hosts this milestone event following Harris’s more than 50 years in music broadcasting, from presenting Sounds of the 70s and The Old Grey Whistle Test to championing the UK Country and Americana scene. The celebration comes as Harris continues to manage ongoing treatment for prostate cancer, having briefly stepped back from his regular BBC Radio 2 show earlier this year. Tickets for the concert go on general sale on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
