Sabrina Carpenter secures the UK’s biggest opening week for an international artist of 2025 so far as Man’s Best Friend debuts atop the Official Albums Chart.

Shifting 85,500 units in its first seven days, Sabrina’s seventh studio set eclipses the year’s previous best. Lady Gaga’s MAYHEM managed 55,500 units back in March, while Sam Fender holds the overall 2025 record, with People Watching shifting 107,000 units in its opening week.

Man’s Best Friend also tops the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, the most popular record of the week on wax.

It’s one of three Sabrina records in this week’s Top 40. Short n’ Sweet, 2025’s Official biggest album of the year so far, lifts five (8), as 2023 LP emails i can’t send reaches a brand-new peak, vaulting 113 spots (21).

CMAT celebrates a career-best with third studio collection EURO-COUNTRY this week (2). The Dublin-born singer-songwriter, real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, previously saw Official Albums Chart success with Mercury Prize-nominated 2023 work Crazymad, For Me (25).

EURO-COUNTRY is also named this week’s biggest album in UK independent record shops, topping the Official Record Store Chart.

Bryan Adams banks a 12th UK Top 10 album with Roll With The Punches, which matches the peak of 2022 LP So Happy It Hurts (3).
It’s a fourth Top 10 LP for The Hives, as The Hives Forever Forever The Hives makes its debut (5). The Swedish rock outfit previously saw Top 10 success with 2002’s Your New Favourite Band (7), 2004’s Tyrannosaurus Hives (7) and 2023 release The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons (2).

English rock duo Nova Twins are back with third full-length release Parasites & Butterflies (27). The pair – Amy Love and Georgia South – managed the same peak with Mercury Prize nominee Supernova in 2022.

And finally, as she announces her first tour in six years, Ariana Grande’s former chart-topper eternal sunshine is on the rebound, up 49 in a return to the Top 40 (32).
