Artists see a lot of strange and beautiful things from the stage, and sometimes they just have to call them out and call in the proper authorities. Case in point: during Sabrina Carpenter‘s Short n’ Sweet tour stop at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Tuesday night (Oct. 22), the “Please Please Please” singer was so thrown off by an audience member that she had to stop the proceedings to comment on it.
“I’m really distracted right now because I see this gorgeous girl,” Carpenter said during the show according to fan footage of the incident. “Girls can you come out here?” she added, summoning her backup dancers.
“I’ve fallen and I can’t get up. This girl is so hot. Who are you, what is your name?” she asked as the crowd screamed in approval. The screens flanking the stage then cut to Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in the audience, with the actress caught in a kiss cam-style digital frame that read “you’re under arrest for being too hot” as she mugged for the camera and laughed. The moment came during the bit each night when Carpenter makes a citizen’s “arrest” of that night’s hot attendee.
Brown mouthed her name as flashing red and blue cop lights lit up the stage. “Millie? Millie, I’ve never fallen in love at a concert before but stranger things have happened,” Carpenter said in a nod to Brown’s day job; Netflix’s smash paranormal drama, Stranger Things, is currently filming its fifth and final season in Atlanta.
“It’s so unfortunate we have to arrest you because you’re so beautiful, that sucks,” Carpenter teased. “She said ‘please arrest me?’ I don’t know what to do and also, like, now I just feel like my clothes are embarrassed,” the singer added as her long yellow skirt dropped away magically to reveal a much shorter version. “What have you done to me? Oh my God, not my skirt falling off in front of so many people!”
Carpenter then handed Brown a pair of pink fuzzy handcuffs, which the actress waved around like a trophy. Carpenter’s tour will hit the Kia Center in Orlando on Thursday (Oct. 24).
