Sasami will return, in March 2025, with her first studio album since 2022’s Squeeze. The new album is called Blood on the Silver Screen, and it comes out on March 7 via Domino. Featured on the LP is the new song “Slugger.” Watch the track’s baseball-themed video, directed by Crystalline Structures Studio, below.
Sasami worked on Blood on the Silver Screen with co-producers Jenn Decilveo and Rostam. The album also includes a guest spot from Clairo on the song “In Love With a Memory.”
“This album is all about learning and respecting the craft of pop songwriting, about relenting to illogical passion, obsession, and guiltless pleasure,” Sasami said in a press release. “It’s about leaning into the chaos of romance and sweeping devotion—romanticism to the point of self-destruction.”
Back in May, Sasami shared the first preview of her new album in the form of the single “Honeycrash.” She explained at the time, “I wanted to write a song with all the drama of a 19th-century classical opera, but with the patience and understanding of someone in therapy in 2024.”
