Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have recalled being “mortified” at a Taylor Swift party.
The couple, who announced their engagement in December last year, have revealed that one of the first events they attended as a couple was a bash hosted by Selena’s close friend, Taylor.
During a joint appearance on Spotify’s Countdown To series with Benny, Selena recalled of the event, “It was actually really funny.”
“As a couple, we went to Taylor’s party after some award show,” the Only Murders in the Building star continued. “I don’t know, it was kind of cute, but I was mortified.”
Selena, 32, then revealed they had been too punctual at the party, saying, “Apparently, cool people don’t show up to parties on time.”
Benny, 37, then revealed his fiancée likes to be on time for every event.
“We’re the first people at every single party when I go with you,” the record producer quipped. “You, like, show up when my mother shows up to a party.”
Benny then told Selena that he thought she was going to tell the story about how no one knew they were a couple at the time of the party.
“I thought you were going to talk about that nobody knew we were dating and we were hiding the fact that we were dating, so we, like, didn’t even touch each other or really look at each other,” he explained.
“It wasn’t secret, we just kept it in privacy,” Selena replied, adding that she thought Benny was “so fun” when they first started dating.
The couple went public with their relationship in 2023, with Selena revealing that they had been dating for six months.
Selena and Benny are currently promoting their collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, which will be released on Friday.
