Serge Pizzorno on what to expect from Kasabian’s ‘Act III’ – and their 2026 tour being a combo of Oasis, Radiohead and Fred Again..

Serge Pizzorno has spoken to NME about what fans can expect from Kasabian’s new album ‘Act III’, and shared why he was blown away by working with Thomas Raggi from Måneskin.

The frontman caught up with NME at the 2026 BRITs, which took place on Saturday (February 28) and was held in Manchester for the first time.

On the red carpet, the Kasabian singer discussed why he was pleased to see the event taking place outside of London, and highlighted the huge number of artists that have come out of Manchester over the years, including Oasis.

When asked if he went to see them on their ‘Live ‘25’ reunion tour last summer, Pizzorno revealed that he “saw them twice at Wembley” and found both gigs “unbelievable”, before sharing that three gigs have inspired him to take a new approach to upcoming Kasabian shows.

“I went to see Oasis, then I went to see Radiohead, then last night I went to see Fred Again.., and all three shows for their own reasons were magnificent,” he told NME. “So in my mind now I’m thinking for the summer, we’re heading for a combination of those three shows. Imagine those three melted into something new — and that’s where we’re headed.”

He also went on to say that, despite his love of Fred Again..’s live gig and his recent collaboration with iconic DJ and producer Calvin Harris, fans shouldn’t expect to see any dance elements seeping into Kasabian’s upcoming album ‘Act III’.

“That [collaboration with Harris] was definitely just an adventure and an exploration into some mad world, whereas ‘Act III’ is rooted in guitars. I feel back in love with it,” he added. “I’ve never really been out of love with guitars, but I found myself drawn to the guitar a lot more on that album.”

One person who helped fan the flame, he shared, was Thomas Raggi from Måneskin, who he recently worked with on a song called ‘Cat Got Your Tongue’ – which appeared on the guitarist’s new solo album, ‘Masquerade’.

“He’s a wild character and I love him. He’s the real deal, he turns up in the studio like a rock star from the ‘70s — he absolutely lives and breathes it all,” Pizzorno shared. “He’s super talented and he’s a fellow Italian, so it was great [working with him]. That tune’s great as well, one day we’ll play it live. We’ll get together and hit it somewhere.”

Looking towards upcoming live shows – including Kasabian’s biggest headline gig to date at London’s Finsbury Park on July 4 (find tickets here) – Pizzorno revealed that he has been finding it more “strange” see the audience lately as he is noticing a brand new wave of fans discovering their music.

“It’s mad when you stick around for so long, and you get to see, you get to see [the momentum] happen again,” he said. “It’s strange in the crowds because we’ve got a whole new fanbase coming that have only recently got into the band.

“The energy is mad because you’ve got both the true heads, but then also this injection of chaos. It’s great when that happens because it feels like there’s no ceiling on where it can go next.”

The 2026 BRITs saw Jack Whitehall return to host for the sixth time, and performances on the night came from Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, HUNTR/X’s EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, Wolf Alice, Mark Ronson, Alex Warren, Sombr, RAYE, and Rosalía.

Noel Gallagher was named as Songwriter of the Year, PinkPantheress was Producer Of The Year, and Ozzy Osbourne was honoured with the BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award following his passing last summer. Check out the full list of winners here.

‘Act III’ will mark Kasabian’s ninth album, following on from 2024’s acclaimed ‘Happenings’. It is set to be released at some point this spring, although an exact date has not been confirmed yet.

The comments about the album being “rooted in guitars” echo what Pizzorno told NME last September, when he said that their upcoming music would “definitely find us in guitar world”.
