Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter have confirmed a run of four headline shows in summer 2026.

The band, comprised of Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock – who was replaced by Sid Vicious in 1977 – got back together in 2024. They are joined by Gallows frontman Frank Carter, filling in for original singer John Lydon AKA Johnny Rotten, in the central role.

The dates open at the historic Piece Hall in Halifax on 11 July before the crew hit Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl on 12 July.

Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter will then play Cardiff Castle on 1 August and Scarborough Open Air Theatre on 2 August.

Guitarist Steve Jones was quoted in the press release saying, “If it ain’t fun, I ain’t doing it. I’m too old for bulls**t.”

The shows are set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sex Pistols’ first single, Anarchy in the UK, which was released in 1976.

The band reformed last year without singer John Lydon, who has refused to go back on tour.

Lydon, who previously reunited with the band in 1996, 2002 and 2007, referred to the concerts with Carter as “karaoke”, telling The Independent, “When I first heard that the Sex Pistols were touring this year without me, it pi**ed me off.

“It annoyed me. I just thought they’re absolutely going to kill all that was good with the Pistols by eliminating the point and the purpose of it all.

“As far as I am concerned, I am the Pistols, and they’re not.”

The band was supposed to start a North American tour in September, but the dates were cancelled after Jones broke his wrist.
