Lipa brought her ‘Radical Optimism‘ tour to Bogotá, Colombia on Friday (November 28), playing in the city’s Estadio El Campín.

During the gig, she surprised the audience with a cover of Shakira’s 1995 hit – a tradition on this tour which sees her pay homage to local music icons in the city she’s performing in.

Following the show, Shakira took to Instagram to praise Lipa’s performance, sharing a clip and writing: “I’m so touched to hear my song in Dua’s voice, in the same city where I wrote it years ago.

“See how music brings us together?” she continued. “A girl from London and another one from Barranqulla!”

Check out the cover below.

So far, the lengthy list of artists Lipa has covered has included Ariana Grande in Miami, Aerosmith in Boston, Sinéad O’Connor in Dublin, Daft Punk in Lyon, Lorde in Zealand and more.

Additionally, Lipa has brought out a number of huge artists to help cover their songs. So far, these have included Billie Joe Armstrong for ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’ in San Francisco, Gwen Stefani for ‘Don’t Speak’ in Los Angeles, Nile Rodgers for ‘Le Freak‘ in New York City, Chaka Khan for ‘Ain’t Nobody’ in Chicago, Jamiroquai for ‘Virtual Insanity’ in London, Neil Finn for ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ in Auckland, and Kevin Parker for ‘The Less I Know The Better’ in Sydney.

Most recently, she was joined by Death Cab for Cutie‘s Ben Gibbard for a cover of ‘I Will Follow You Into The Dark’ in Seattle.

Back in June, she played two Wembley shows that later became the subject of a mini-documentary titled Dua Lipa – The Beat Before (Wembley Stadium), which chronicled behind-the-scenes footage and fan vox-pops from the gigs.

Lipa will round off the tour with three shows in Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros from December 1-5.

The tour is in support of her third studio album ‘Radical Optimism‘, which NME gave a three-star review. While we wrote that “the sonics on offer here are some of the most interesting that Lipa has worked on”, we also noted that “‘Radical Optimism’ offers little else to latch on”.

In other news, Lipa recently revealed she is now studying A-level Spanish after passing her GSCE exam.
