For Friends And Family Only (A Live Concert Film) hits theaters on November 14, while new LP Shawn arrives the next day
The night before Shawn Mendes releases his new album, the singer will give audiences nationwide an intimate look at Shawn with For Friends And Family Only (A Live Concert Film), hitting theaters for one night only on November 14.
The concert film, which was recorded at Woodstock, New York’s historic Bearsville Theater, “features a heartfelt performance of the self-titled album in its entirety — for the very first time,” the movie’s synopsis states.
“Shawn treats the audience to more than just a concert as he shares personal stories and the inspiration behind each track from the album, giving fans an intimate look at the creative journey that shaped the music. The cinema events will provide an unforgettable opportunity to experience Shawn in a completely unique way before its official release date.”
Visit the Friends and Family Only site for a list of participating theaters. The same night the concert film hits the big screen, Mendes himself will embark on a similarly named six-show tour where he’ll also perform Shawn in its entirety at smaller-than-usual venues for the pop star, gigs that will also mark Mendes’ first trek since he canceled his Wonder tour.
Shawn was originally scheduled to arrive on October 18, but the album was pushed to November 15 because “we just need a little bit more time to bring some new inspiration and ideas to life,” the singer said, and presumably to have the album coincide with the concert film’s one-night-only screening.
