Named on the Official Charts Ones to Watch list earlier this year, Spiro’s ascent through the music landscape has been extraordinary. She first broke into the Official Top 40 with the haunting single “Die On This Hill” in October 2025, capturing listener attention with her dynamic vocal range and distinct timbre. That breakout release reached a peak of Number 9, cementing her reputation as one of the most compelling new voices in British music.
While subsequent Top 40 hits including “You Stole The Show,” “The Visitor,” “Material Lover,” and “Pure” kept her on the charts, a Number 1 single had remained just out of reach until now. Taken from her debut album Visitor, “Great Expectation” quickly emerged as a standout fan favorite. The track initially entered the Top 40 in July at Number 32 before steadily climbing the rankings, reaching Number 2 last week before ultimately ascending to the top spot.
Elsewhere on the Official Singles Chart, Dua Lipa’s “Training Season” returned to the Top 10 by jumping eleven spots to Number 7, fueled by ongoing viral activity on social media. Tame Impala secured a second Top 10 entry as “Loser” joined “Dracula” at Number 10. Slovakian singer-songwriter ADÉLA also saw progress, with “Ain’t in LA” climbing to Number 12 following the arrival of her debut album PRIMA at Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart. Meanwhile, American singer Ashe reached the Top 20 for the first time as “Stop The Wedding!” moved up seven places to Number 16.
