Singer Linda Perhacs ‘Found Safely’ After Being Reported Missing

After being reported missing earlier this week, musician Linda Perhacs has been “found safely.”

“We are grateful to share that singer-songwriter Linda Perhacs has been located and is safe,” Perhacs’ former manager Laurel Stearns shared in a statement. “After a period of concern during which friends, collaborators, and members of the music community were unable to establish contact with Linda and had filed police reports accordingly. Law enforcement has just confirmed that she has been found and is safe.”

Stearns continued, “We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped amplify this effort by sharing information, reaching out with support, and expressing genuine care for Linda’s well-being. The overwhelming response from fans, fellow musicians, journalists, and the broader creative community has been a powerful reminder of the profound impact Linda’s music. We are especially grateful to the authorities for their assistance and to all those who worked behind the scenes to help bring clarity to this situation.”

She added, “At this time, we ask that Linda’s privacy be respected as those close to her determine the best path forward. We hope this moment allows for compassion, healing, and continued support for an artist whose work has touched so many lives. Thank you again to everyone who stood with Linda and helped ensure that she was found safely.”

On Monday, Stearns claimed that 82-year-old Perhacs was discharged from a residential care facility eight months ago under the supervision of her legal guardian, but that no one has been able to contact either of them since. In a statement on Instagram, Stearns said Perhacs’ friends are “seeking confirmation that Linda is safe, well, and receiving appropriate care, while expressing concern over the prolonged absence of communication with a beloved public figure.”

In a post on the singer’s official Instagram page, Stearns added that Perhacs is now “in a new care facility.”

Perhacs is best known for 1970’s Parallelograms, recorded when she was a dental hygienist. It went overlooked for years until it received renewed appreciation in the late Nineties, gaining her a cult audience who regard the album as a lost psychedelic folk classic. She released the comeback album The Soul of All Natural Things in 2014, followed by I’m a Harmony three years later.
