Snail Mail has announced her first album in five years. Ricochet is out March 27 via Matador. Lindsey Jordan co-directed the music video for lead single “Dead End” with Elsie Richter. Watch it below.
“We shot the video for ‘Dead End’ in random places all around rural North Carolina between the hours of 5pm and 4am on one of the coldest nights of my life,” Jordan said in a press statement. “The goal was to be inconspicuous with the fireworks, but someone called the cops on us.”
Jordan’s last album as Snail Mail, Valentine, came out in 2021. Since then, she’s launched a music festival in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, appeared in Jane Schoenbrun’s film I Saw the TV Glow, and covered songs by Superdrag, Pavement, Lou Reed, and This Is Lorelei.
Jordan will tour Ricochet across North America beginning in April. She’ll be joined by Sharp Pins at almost all stops, with additional support coming from Avalon Emerson & the Charm, @, Swirlies, Armlock, and Rocket. Scroll down to check out all of Snail Mail’s upcoming shows.
