Snoh Aalegra is teeing up her first album in half a decade, Legendary Love. The announcement comes with a song called “I Love You,” for which the Iranian Swedish artist has recruited two legends from opposite corners of the R&B pantheon: Nile Rodgers on guitar and Raphael Saadiq on bass. Check out “I Love You” below, with a video directed by Alfred Marroquín. The album arrives November 13 via Stem.
Aalegra said of the new LP in a press release: “I don’t think the greatest love stories are measured by how long they last. They’re measured by who they ask you to become. Every song holds a piece of who I was, who I became, and who I will continue to be because I allowed myself to love this deeply. This love brought me back to the era of music I fell in love with growing up. It carried the same longing, romance, and nostalgia that first made me dream of becoming an artist.”
“I Love You,” which Aalegra co-wrote with Joel Compass and co-produced with Compass and Josh Grant, follows the release last week of “Karma,” her first song in three years. Her last LP was Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies.
