Snoop Dogg brought some extra holiday cheer to the Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions halftime show on Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL broadcast. The rapper took the stage in Minneapolis for Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party, performing some of his most beloved hits and welcoming the singing trio behind HUNTR/X, Lainey Wilson, and Andrea Bocelli during the performance.

The halftime show opened with his close personal friend Martha Stewart reading a Snoop-inspired Christmas story to some Dobermanns before Snoop took the stage, draped in a red coat. Surrounded by Christmas-themed dancers and a full orchestra, Snoop rapped his verse from “The Next Episode,” his 1999 hit with Dr. Dre.

“It’s Christmas, and we are about to do some of my favorite Christmas songs!” Snoop declared before a G-funk version of “My Favorite Things” backed by a choir, before ballerinas swept him right into another Nineties classic originally recorded with Dre, “Nuthin’ but a G Thang.”

Audrey Nuna, EJA, and Rei Ami — the real-life singers who voiced the evil-slaying trio HUNTR/X in Netflix’s runaway hit KPop Demon Hunters — then took the stage for an 808-backed K-pop rendition of “The Twelve Days Of Christmas.” The trio walked down some stairs as they sang, and when they reached the “five golden rings” part of the song, they included a vocal nod to their massive hit “Golden.”

Snoop picked up the performance with a jolly “Drop It Like It’s Hot” before continuing into “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” alongside a little drummer boy as the field was overtaken by dancers.

Country star Lainey Wilson came out next, decked out in bell-bottoms and a matching cowboy hat, riding onto the field in a snow-white luxury sleigh for a twangy take on “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” For a surprise finale, Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo teamed up for a full-throated operatic rendition of Irving Berlin’s classic “White Christmas” as faux snow fell from the sky, while Wilson, Snoop, and HUNTR/X joined the Bocellis on a raised platform to conclude the performance.

“From our family to your family, merry Christmas!” Snoop declared to end the performance.

All in all, it was a halftime show that lived up to his promise of “a holiday to remember” before the show. As he said then, “We’re servin’ up music, love, and good vibes for the whole world to enjoy. That’s holiday magic Santa can’t fit in a bag.”

Snoop is no stranger to halftime show performances. He joined Dr. Dre’s hip-hop spectacle in 2022 for Super Bowl LVI, performing “The Next Episode,” “California Love,” and “Still D.R.E.” alongside 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and Anderson .Paak.

Last year, Beyoncé took the stage for Netflix’s halftime show spectacle. She brought out Post Malone and Shaboozey for an iconic performance titled “Beyoncé Bowl,” later released as its own program on Netflix, celebrating the singer’s Cowboy Carter era.

Kelly Clarkson kicked off this year’s Netflix broadcast with a performance of “Underneath the Tree” before the Cowboys vs. Commanders game.
