Snoop Dogg will “celebrate and uplift” athletes as Team USA’s first-ever honorary coach at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

On Thursday, officials from the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) announced that they had partnered with the hip-hop icon to help support American athletes at the Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

In a statement, Snoop declared that he couldn’t wait to get started.

“Team USA athletes are the real stars – I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,” the 54-year-old praised. “This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart, and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”

For his new gig, Snoop will help build awareness for the Team USA Fund, which provides direct resources to help athletes reach their full potential.

The Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper, real name Calvin Broadus Jr., is also partnering with Fanatics on a Coach Snoop × Team USA collection, which is set to launch this month. A portion of the proceeds from sales will support Team USA.

And Sarah Hirshland, chief executive officer of the USOPC, is thrilled to have Snoop serve in the volunteer role.

“From the moment Snoop met Team USA athletes, there was an instant connection-mutual respect, genuine curiosity, and a lot of laughter,” she added. “His enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement is contagious, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome him as a member of the Team Behind the Team.”

In September, Snoop confirmed he would be part of the Winter Olympics coverage team for NBCUniversal.

The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held at sites across Lombardy and Northeast Italy from 6 to 22 February 2026.
