Soulja Boy (born DeAndre Cortez Way) typically takes pride in accomplishing firsts in life. He allegedly became a dad for the first time when he welcomed a baby boy with his ex-partner Jackilyn Martinez in 2022, but now the rapper is saying that isn’t so sure he’s the father.
According to California court documents viewed by Billboard, Soulja Boy filed on Wednesday (July 22) to have a DNA test for his alleged 3-year-old son, KeAndre Way.
If proven to indeed be the father of the 3-year-old, Soulja agreed to inherit pregnancy costs with Martinez and pay for her legal fees.
According to TMZ, Soulja Boy’s filing came in response to Martinez’s October 2025 lawsuit against the “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” rapper, which saw her file for primary custody of the 3-year-old and allow Soulja visitation rights.
Martinez claims she’s been primarily covering the baby’s finances and Soulja Boy only chipped in after she “begged him to do so.” She’s seeking child support from the California native.
TMZ also reported in June that Martinez provided the courts with a text from Soulja Boy that allegedly read, “Stop emailing me, you dumb bi–h. There will be no litigation or settlement idk who the f— u think u talking to.”
According to Complex, Soulja Boy posted his newborn — which made him a father for the first time — following KeAndre’s birth in September 2022. He was also reportedly present for the child’s gender reveal earlier that year. KeAndre is Soulja Boy’s only alleged child.
On the music side, the 35-year-old released his DRIP project in May. To date, Soulja Boy has 10 Billboard Hot 100 entries and one No. 1 hit on the chart: “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” in 2007.
